The Power of U (formally The Uplift Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit established in April of 1999 and incorporated in 2001. It is the service oriented division of the Uplift Family. It’s mission to ensure the healthy development and improve the quality of life of youth in our communities. The Power of U has been committed to working with at-risk youth in Eastern North Carolina and their families.
Our efforts to provide better futures for the young people in our communities has lead us to not only plan programming for the child, but also for their caretakers.
Our mission is to promote supportive services and healthy relationships between family, community leaders and peers.

Uplift Comprehensive Services
Uplift Comprehensive Services was founded in 2002 and was originally incorporated as Uplift Residential Services. Uplift Residential Services began as a spinoff agency of The Uplift Foundation(established April of 2000). While the Uplift Foundation’s focus was on grant based funding sources, Uplift Residential Services would focus more on managed mental health care. Our first service was Residential Treatment(level III). Today, Uplift Comprehensive Services work hand in hand to benefit eastern North Carolina communities. Uplift Comprehensive Services has developed a well rounded treatment milieu that includes:
