POSITION: Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) Therapist

 

LOCATION/DEPARTMENT: Multi-Systemic Therapy

REPORTS TO: MST Supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or College in the field of Psychology, Social Work, Counseling Education, or other Human Services Field (Master’s Degree Preferred)

  • Two years experience in the human service field and significant clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behavior in youth.

  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong written/verbal skills

  • Strong knowledge of common diagnoses and treatments

  • Ability to complete person centered plans, treatment plan updates, authorization requests, and all medical records requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Efficient in time management

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MST Therapist will serve 100% of their time on the MST Team providing assistance to the individual, parent/guardian/caregiver of the individual, and other key participants

  • Implement problem identification, treatment planning and intervention implementation utilizing the MST process

  • To provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.

  • Participate in the 5-day MST Orientation, MST booster training, one hour of supervision, and one hour of consultation activities.

  • Provide direct intervention, arranges, coordinates, and monitors services that are provided in any location on behalf of the recipient.

  • Participate in the First Responder Crisis response 24 hours day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year on an alternating schedule as outlined in the Policies and Procedures for First Responder/Crisis Policies and Procedures for First Responder/Crisis Policies and Procedures.

  • Flexibility in working non-traditional work hours in implementing MST

  • Furnishes required reports to Uplift, LME, DJJDP, and other involved agencies as necessary.

Job Summary

 

Community Respite Providers deliver periodic support and relief to primary caregivers who care for children (ages 3 to 21) with mental health (MH), and substance abuse (SA) diagnoses and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and for adults with I/DD. Services are delivered face to face with service recipient.

 

Qualifications

 

Successful applicant should possess a minimum of a high school diploma/GED. Applicant must be no less than 18 years old and have a valid North Carolina Drivers license. Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check, approved driving record, employment, physical and drug screen.

 

Responsibilities

 

●Work with the primary caregiver(s) to meet or participate in scheduled and unscheduled events away from the service recipient (consumer), in and/or out of the consumer’s home, and in a variety of community settings.

●Ensure that the health, nutrition, supervision and daily living needs of the child with MH/SA diagnoses and/or I/DD or adult with I/DD are met during the respite event.

●Maintain clear and concise documentation of service delivery.

●Flexibility to deliver respite services in a variety of settings.
